Prospect Namedre
Namedre occupies a total area of 19,680hectares and immediately adjoins the Votualevu Prospect on the southern boundary of Votualevu. Namedre also adjoins Nasaucoko (SPL 1458) on the western boundary of the Nasaucoko Prospect. And adjoins the northern boundary of SPL 1457 of Vunamoli all held by VML.
The Namedre prospect is about 20km South East of Nadi City.
Exploration reports made reference to the presence of manganese in several areas, mainly as boulders and floats plus a few small veinlets of manganese oxide.
The concluding remarks about Namedre is that it holds very good potential for manganese as already suggested by the work done by Nchanga Mines Limited. It also holds potential for a significant copper bearing system.
Numerous large fracture (fault) systems occur within the Namedre Prospect, thus holding itself out as an interesting area to work with as it has the following features that are very suggestive of manganese mineralisation:
many major fractures/faults;
favourable country rock;
very strong stream sediment readings for Mn;
favourable vegetation suggestive of Mn presence e.g. bracken ferns,
...casuarina trees etc.
