Director
John Sanday
John is Chairman and CEO of Viti Mining Limited and brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise in the fields of commercial and investment banking, treasury operations, beneficiation of precious metals, bullion financing, landowner and native title issues, project origination and trust administration. He currently serves on the following boards:
- Director: Metals Refining Operations Ltd, PNG's only and largest gold refinery based in Port Moresby, PNG;
- Director: Melanesian Metals Corporation Ltd, a diversified metals and mining company based in Port Moresby, PNG;
- Director: Melanesian Trustee Services Limited, PNG's largest, privately owned trustee company with over K170.00 (AUD80 million) million under management.
- Director: Kava Korporesen Ltd, the largest Kava processor and exporter in PNG;
- Director: Fine Metals (Fiji) Ltd, a small mining and mining support services company based in Suva, Fiji.
- Director: Melanesian Capital (Fiji) Limited, a small boutique merchant banking outfit based in Suva, Fiji.
John has worked in most countries of the region including, Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea. He also speaks Fijian, Hindi, Tok Pisin and Hiri Motu. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Banking and Finance degree from University of Canberra, ACT and is a Fellow of the Financial Servivices Institute of Australasia. John was a keen sportsman having represented Fiji in rugby union several times and the highlight of his rugby career was playing No 8 for Fiji in the first ever Rugby World Cup Tournament in 1987 and helping Fiji to play through to the quarter finals. He now keeps fit through a walking regime.
